Dog Grooming Assistant Course

This course gives you an insight into the world of dog grooming and prepares you for employment in a grooming salon as part of the grooming team. Your course will focus on the preparation of dogs for grooming and you will focus on experience in a wide variety of breeds. You will be taught all the basic grooming skills and will learn how to use all the salon equipment. You will work under constant supervision from our experienced staff who will do everything possible to assist you throughout your course so that you feel supported and gain confidence.

This course does not include clipping trimming or handstripping. The course consists of :Preparing and Grooming dogs prior to bathing, Bathing , drying dogs and prepare their coats for grooming . Clean and maintain equipment used for grooming, Restraining dogs using positive reinforcement and Canine First Aid Input

Refresher Course in Dog Grooming.

This course will give you the opportunity to perfect your grooming skills on specific breeds of your choice. Handstripping can be incorporated into this course.

Course can be taken in full block or split up into days to suit the groomer.

We can also provide a trainer to come to your salon to carry out the refresher course if required

Our one day course - for pet owners which includes basic grooming, trimming or handstripping. Coat care and safe handling of your own dog, care of ears and nails. - £80.00

Our three day course - Learning Bathing/ drying/ handling, grooming, trimming and handstripping. Gaining experience in salon. Health and safety and use of grooming equipment - POA

Learning and hands on experience in clipping/ scissoring/ handstripping a variety of breeds and crossbreeds. The course is based on you working one dog at a time start to finish supervised by a qualified dog groomer. The head trainer has over thirty years experience in dog grooming and trained at The London Academy of Canine Beauticians. On satisfactory completion of the course you will be presented with your grooming certificate and a grooming starter kit which is included in your course price The course is tailored to your needs so you can either break the course into blocks or take it as one complete block. We can accomodate evening or weekend training to fit around any college courses or any employment you may have.You will also undergo a canine first aid input also included in the cost.The 20 and 30 day courses can be paid for as a one off payment or we can set up a payment plan.
