At JUST FOR DOGS, we prefer not to shave your dog UNLESS the coat is so matted that it would be cruel to continue dematting. 

 

When your dog is shaved the undercoat  which helps your dog stay warm and dry in cold weather and most importantly  protects the skin from the sun in warm weather is removed leaving your dog vulnerable.

 

At JUST FOR DOGS we will happily put your dog on a regular grooming program to ensure the coat is manageable and kept in good condition.

We offer "between grooming appointments" so your dog can come in every two weeks for a groom out without bathing or clipping unless required. This also keeps the cost down for you and keeps your dog comfortable.

 

We encourage puppy owners to bring the youngster along for an introduction to the grooming salon environment and to being groomed without clipping from as early as 12 weeks old. We offer this service free of charge until your puppy is ready for the first clip/ trim or handstrip. This ensures your puppy has a positive experience and enjoys being handled and groomed.

 

All our staff are fully qualified in Dog Grooming and Canine First Aid trained. We use positive reinforcement and will do our very best to ensure your dog has a good experience whilst in our care.

 

For a full grooming appointment please expect your dog to be in our care for up to 2 hours.
